Dr Jones was the anaesthetist assisting Mr Simon Smith during my Thyroid operation. He was very pleasant and put my mind at rest as I had had a cold and was concerned about having an anaesthetic. He was careful to explain everything to do with his part of the operation and what would happen when I came round from the anaesthetic. This was very reassuring and I couldn't have wish for better treatment. I would thoroughly recommend him.

I was in the Day Surgery ward at Broomfield having breast surgery, and very keen to be in and out within the day despite a reasonably detailed op. Mr Jones was one of the first of the doctors from the team to meet with me that morning and his friendly, calm, attentive and efficient manner really set the tone for the whole day. He was exceptionally clear and empathetic as he explained what would happen from the anesthetic point of view and equally so when he woke me up at the end of the op. I felt bright and alert immediately and easily well enough to be home by 6pm. I would thoroughly recommend him and his team.

I recently had half of my thyroid removed and Dr Jones was very reassuring, calm and professional. He explained everything to me and was very thorough - answering any questions that I had. His bedside manner was friendly and caring and I felt completely confident with his abilities. I would recommend him for sure.

I met Dr Jones when I was having a breast augmentation back in November 2014. I was so nervous as I had never had any sort of surgery. Dr Jones was so happy and upbeat just what I needed to break my nerves. I fainted after my surgery and he help me get up and helped me walk and I really appreciated that! Thank you so much!

I had a thyroid op at Springfield Hospital Chelmsford on 22nd Jan 2015. It was my good fortune to find Mr Hywel Jones was to be my anaesthetist. He came to see me pre op to explain what would happen, what to expect and how he would care for me. To say that he calmed my nerves and put me at ease is an understatement. He was thorough in his explanation, attentive to my concerns and defines the meaning of patient care. From the anaesthetic room, to the recovery room, to the visits to see me a few hours after my operation and again the following morning, Mr Jones was the consummate professional. Mr Jones I am grateful to have been the recipient of your skill and expertise but most of all I salute your kind, caring and considerate manner, you are the Rolls Royce of anaesthetists.
